Ever wanted to be on stage? Here's your chance.
Cottage Theatre is holding auditions for its August production of I Hate Hamlet, a fast-paced comedy by Paul Rudnick that mixes Shakespeare, show business, romance, and a ghostly visit from one of theater's greatest legends.
Directed by Tony Rust, the production will run for three weekends with 11 performances from August 7 through August 23, 2026.
Actors planning to audition should come prepared with:
• A short Shakespeare monologue
• A willingness to read from the script during auditions

About the Show:
Andrew Rally seems to have everything going for him: television fame, a beautiful girlfriend, a top agent, and the opportunity to play Hamlet in New York City's Central Park.
There's just one problem.
He hates Shakespeare.
Things get even more complicated when the ghost of legendary actor John Barrymore appears, determined to transform Andrew into a great stage actor. What follows is a hilarious battle of ambition, ego, art, and swordplay in one of modern theater's most beloved comedies.
