Full STEAM Ahead! Paper Airplanes at Creswell Library

  • Creswell Library 64 West Oregon Avenue Creswell, Oregon, 97426 United States (map)

Young inventors can explore the science of flight during Full STEAM Ahead! Paper Airplanes at Creswell Library. Children will create their own paper-airplane designs and then test how far their finished aircraft can travel down the library’s runway.

This hands-on activity introduces children to STEAM—science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics—through an approachable project made from an ordinary sheet of paper. Kids can experiment with different folds, wing shapes and design choices while observing how each change affects the airplane’s flight.

The activity encourages creativity, problem-solving and trial and error. A plane that takes an unexpected turn is simply another opportunity to adjust the design and send it back down the runway.

The program is intended for children ages 5–11. According to the library’s youth-program guidelines, children younger than nine must remain accompanied by an adult while inside the library.

Admission: The library does not list an admission fee or registration requirement for this activity. Families may contact the library beforehand to confirm space and material availability.

Time: The activity begins at 3:30 PM. Creswell Library has not published an official ending time.

Location: Creswell Library, 64 W. Oregon Avenue, Creswell, Oregon 97426.

Contact: Call Creswell Library at 541-895-3053. Questions about youth programming may also be directed to Youth Librarian Lindsey Quigley-Johnson at lindsey@creswell-library.org.
