Saturday marks the second scheduled night of this year's attraction, so if you missed Friday's opening, you've still got plenty of opportunities to check it out!
What Is Nightmare on 9th Street?
Nightmare on 9th Street is a community-created Halloween attraction centered around the haunted yard of Creswell resident Joanie Kent.
With help from local residents, the yard is transformed into a spooky Halloween experience that has become a familiar part of the area's seasonal celebrations.
Rather than visiting a large commercial haunted house, visitors get to experience something put together by people right here in our own community.
Past versions of the event have featured elaborate Halloween displays and haunted-yard decorations.
The organizers haven't released a complete rundown of every attraction planned for 2026, so there may be a few surprises waiting for you!
Halloween Fun That Gives Back
One of the best things about this event is knowing that you're supporting something worthwhile while enjoying the Halloween festivities.
Donations benefit two local organizations:
Blue Barn Farm & Sanctuary
Based in Creswell, this nonprofit provides a home for rescued farm animals and promotes compassion through humane education.
Creswell Food Pantry
The food pantry provides food assistance to people in the Creswell community, helping local individuals and families access groceries when they need support.
So whether you're bringing the kids for some spooky fun or checking out the decorations yourself, your contribution can help make a difference.
The sanctuary also plans to provide Halloween coloring sheets for visitors.
Is Nightmare on 9th Street Family-Friendly?
The organizers specifically invite families to bring their children and explore the haunted yard.
However, Halloween attractions can be scary for younger kids, and the organizer hasn't announced an official age recommendation or scare-level rating for 2026.
If you've got little ones who are easily frightened, keep that in mind before visiting.
Make a Saturday Evening Out of It
With the haunted yard opening at 5:30 PM, this could be a fun way to spend part of your Saturday evening in Creswell.
Grab dinner locally, bring some friends or family, and stop by to see what the residents have created this year.
A few helpful reminders:
Dress warmly. Oregon evenings in late October can get chilly.
Wear comfortable shoes suitable for an outdoor yard.
Bring your suggested donation or canned food.
Respect neighboring homes, driveways, and residents.
Keep younger children close.
Check the organizer's updates before heading out.
Specific parking and accessibility arrangements have not yet been published for the 2026 event.
More Halloween Fun on Saturday
Blue Barn Farm & Sanctuary is also hosting a separate Halloween-themed Trick or Read: Bunnies n Books activity earlier on Saturday, October 24, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
That event takes place at the sanctuary and requires free advance registration by Thursday, October 22, with limited spaces available.
It's a separate event from Nightmare on 9th Street, but the sanctuary suggests families attending its afternoon activity may want to visit the haunted yard afterward.
Can't Make It Saturday?
Nightmare on 9th Street has four more scheduled evenings after October 24:
Sunday, October 25
Friday, October 30
Saturday, October 31 (Halloween!)
Sunday, November 1
Each evening is scheduled from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
