Have a pressure canner sitting in the cupboard that you’re still a little intimidated by? Join the Lane County Master Food Preservers on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at The Cottage Events Venue, 2915 Row River Road, Cottage Grove, OR 97424, for a hands-on food preservation workshop.

Offered through OSU Extension Service, Pressure Canning Protein covers pressure canning, freezing, drying/dehydrating and hot smoking. Participants will work through the steps involved in safely canning vegetables, meat and seafood.

The workshop costs $16 and includes a free pressure-canner dial-gauge test. If you have a dial-gauge canner, bring the lid or the gauge itself for testing. extension.oregonstate.edu
