Quilts of Valor Sewing Group & Learn-to-Sew Day

  • VFW Post 4039 111 S. 10th Street Creswell, OR, 97426 United States (map)

Bring your creativity and spend the day sewing with neighbors during the Quilts of Valor Sewing Group at Creswell VFW Post 4039. The free monthly gathering welcomes people interested in contributing to Quilts of Valor projects as well as those who would like an opportunity to learn how to sew.

A Quilt of Valor is a quality handmade quilt awarded to a United States Armed Forces member or veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilts of Valor Foundation describes each finished quilt as a meaningful expression of appreciation for the recipient’s service and sacrifice.

Participants can connect with other local sewists, share techniques and contribute their time toward a project with a meaningful purpose. Beginners interested in developing their sewing skills are also invited to contact the organizer about participating.

The group meets from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, allowing participants to attend for the day and work at a comfortable pace.

Admission: Participation is free. Attendees should bring a sack lunch.

What to bring: The listing only specifically requests a sack lunch. Contact Wanda before attending to confirm what sewing equipment, fabric or other materials you should bring.

RSVP and contact: Text Wanda at 541-912-7432 for additional information or to RSVP.

Location: VFW Post 4039, 111 S. 10th Street, Creswell, Oregon 97426.
