Now let’s talk about this month’s Local Legend.
Some people don’t try to stand out… but somehow, everyone knows them anyway. You see them around town, you wave, they wave back. They’re just part of Cottage Grove.
This month the community voted, and the result was clear. Meet May’s Local Legend, Nathan J Demmon.
Through Groovin’ in the Grove, I had the chance to learn more about Nathan’s story in his own words. Like always with Local Legends, the goal is simple… let the people who help shape this town tell their story themselves.
👋 For those who may not know you yet, how would you introduce yourself?
So im just guy that was born in cg 65 years ago . Have made alot of friends along the way. A lot of them no longer with us.
🌲 What’s your connection to Cottage Grove or the surrounding area?
So im just guy that was born in cg 65 years ago . Have made alot of friends along the way. A lot of them no longer with us. Been married to my wife christina 36 yrs, we enjoy what we do at 3 dogs recycling helping people and recycling.
💚 What makes this community special to you?
Me and my poodle bently every where we go some one is waving or saying hi. That means alot to me.
🤝 How have you been involved in the community or ways you like to give back?

And being voted local legend i dont even know what to say but its a honor.
💡 What motivates you to keep showing up and doing what you do?
We very much appreciate the ongoing support from our little community and surrounding area
